Wanda Darlene Campbell wrote her first story in the back of a Bible at the age of nine. "I thought the blank pages were for me to add my story," she says.  "I always made stories up for children to act out...I was fascinated by the possiblity of  other worlds and dimensions."

Her love for stories and for helping children continues. Wanda is a teacher in the Appalachian foothills where she grew up in the shadow of writers like Jesse Stuart, Janice Holt Giles and James Still, but at the age of sixteen she found the genres that would captivate her--Science Fiction and Fantasy. "It was the works of Andre Norton that first turned me on to sci-fi, then came Hubbard, Clark, Vernes, Wells,  C.S. Lewis and  others."

Dragon's Heir was born as a result of a discussion started during an English lesson. Since beginning her novel, Wanda's  plays, articles, short stories and essays have appeared in various publications such as StorySouth, New Madrid, Mid-South Review, Riverwalk Journal, Pegasus, Other Voices International, Coal by Blair Mountain Press, Instructor Magazine and many others. Besides writing, Wanda is an accomplished painter, enthusiastic gardner, amatuer banjo picker and all around outdoors woman who enjoys spending time with family and friends.
